South African nurses are world-renowned for being hard-working, committed, caring and knowledgeable employees. We want to continue that tradition by training and mentoring future generations of nurses that have the ‘AHC spark’. Our vision is to have our nursing students blaze a trail through the healthcare industry and be prominent for their skills and dedication.
Ideally located onsite at the Fountain Private Hospital in Carletonville, the Africa Health Care Nursing College is an institution of higher learning accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training and registered with the South African Nursing Council. It boasts a heritage of over 60 years of training high-calibre students trained by a team of qualified and experienced educators and facilitators. At present, we have over 200 students in our system; this number is growing every year.
The College offers a comprehensive program of nurse training and education, from basic qualification to specialised nurses. The following professional qualification programs are currently offered by the College:
- Bridging Course for enrolled nurses, leading to registration as a general nurse (R683 of 14 April 1989) as amended.
- First Aid Training.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – offered to corporates as well.
At AHC, we are fully committed to growing the nursing profession and developing nurses of the highest calibre. Despite the existing national challenges, we will continue to fulfil our personal mandate of providing the best healthcare, by quality professionals, that’s affordable and memorable.
