Description
A vacancy exists for a Services Assistant, reporting to the Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining a hygienic and safe patient/workplace environment and to ensure availability of resources (equipment, materials and consumables) in the facility at all times.
Critical Outputs
• Cleaning the hospital according to infection control guidelines.
• Sorting and counting of linen.
• Conducting quality checks on linen on a continuous basis and escalate as necessary.
• Recording and distributing linen to the wards.
• Management and control of cleaning equipment and materials.
• Monitor and control access of the premises by documenting and regulating entrance into the facility by vehicles or pedestrians.
• Report any incidents to management verbally and in writing to management as soon as practicable.
• Coordinating waste disposal, collection and recycling initiatives in the facility.
• Communicating with internal customers when there are delays in providing services.
• Performing administrative duties in line with the requirements of the services department.
Requirements
• Grade 12 or equivalent level of education.
• 3 years relevant experience in private healthcare advantageous.
• Computer proficiency.
