Description
A vacancy exists for an Inventory Manager, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s inventory operations to ensure optimal stock levels, efficient storage, and accurate record-keeping.
Critical Outputs
• Consistently track and monitor stock to prevent shortages or overstocking, ensuring that the hospital has the necessary supplies without excess waste.
• Managing stock controllers (roasters); Surgical (ordering/ picking/ packing) stock system.
• Foster positive relationships with hospital staff and patients, ensuring all services provided meet the expected standards of care.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge or relevant regulations and ensure all stock and pharmaceutical transactions adhere to legislative requirements and internal policies.
• Streamline stock management process to minimize delays, optimize stock turnover, and improve overall workflow efficiency in the pharmacy.
• Focus on professional growth through training, ensuring up-to date practices in stock control, and improving both personal and departmental performance.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and operational teams to streamline inventory processes, enhance supply chain efficiency, and contribute to the overall financial and operational objectives of the organization.
Requirements
• Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy/ Pharmaceutical Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in stock control, ideally within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Supervisory exposure and team leading experience.
• Experience with pharmaceutical stock management and medical supplies is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of stock control principles such as FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First-Out).
• Experience with billing processes related to pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
• Familiarity with pharmacy legislation, regulations (such as SAPC, Medicines and Related Substances Act), and healthcare industry standards is a plus.
• Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Inventory Management Software, or Hospital Management Systems)
