Description
A vacancy exists for a Hospital Electrician, reporting to the Technical Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continuous, safe, and compliant operation of all electrical systems within a critical healthcare environment.
Critical Outputs
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on hospital electrical infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to electrical faults and emergency breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and healthcare standards.
• Maintain backup power systems, including generators and UPS systems.
• Work closely with facility management and clinical teams to minimize disruptions.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and reports.
Requirements
• Certified/Qualified Electrician (Trade Test Certificate or equivalent)
• Valid electrical license • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience, preferably in a hospital facility.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault-finding, and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with backup power systems and emergency protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, standby, and respond to emergencies.
