Description
An opportunity exists for a Food Services Manager, reporting to the Hospital Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all hospital catering operations, ensuring meals are safe and delivered efficiently as well as leading the catering team, managing resources, and upholding the highest standards of hygiene, compliance, and patient care.
Critical Outputs
• Direct and manage hospital food service operations, including kitchen, catering, and ward service teams.
• Develop and implement menus that meet diverse dietary requirements in consultation with dietitians and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
• Manage budgets, stock control, and supplier relationships to achieve cost-effective operations.
• Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of catering staff.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with hospital management to align food services with overall patient care objectives.
Requirements
• Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or Food Service Management.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale catering operations, ideally within healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and hospital dietary standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
