A vacancy exists for a Deputy Nursing Manager, reporting to the Nursing Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring clinical excellence, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Critical Outputs
• Support the Nursing Services Manager in the overall management of nursing services
• Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in line with hospital standards
• Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff to enhance performance and professional growth
• Monitor compliance with clinical protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Assist in staff scheduling, resource allocation, and operational planning
• Handle patient and staff concern effectively and professionally
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
• Maintain accurate records and reporting as required
Requirements
• BCur or Relevant Nursing Diploma
• Degree/Diploma in Nursing Management
• Post basic clinical specialist qualification prefered
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a private hospital environment
• Sound knowledge of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Computer literacy (MS Office and hospital systems)
