Description

A vacancy exists for a CSSD Assistant reporting to the responsible Unit Manager. The successful candidate will form part of the multidisciplinary team performing nursing activities ensuring quality patient care.

Critical Outputs

• Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.

• Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by the team leader.

• Receiving, checking, packing of sets and sterile loan sets.

• Management of linen.

• Efficient use of equipment and materials.

• Maintain health, safety and infection control standards.

• Assist with stock control procedures.

Requirements

• Grade 12.

• Two years’ experience within the Private Healthcare Sector.

• Working knowledge of autoclaves and washing of instruments.

• Experience in packing theatre equipment and sets.

• Understanding of theatre linen management.

• Working knowledge of CSSD stock management.

• Must be prepared to work flexible hours.
