Description

An opportunity exists for a Catering Manager (6 months FTC) reporting to the Hospital Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the hospital catering service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and nutritionally appropriate meals while maintaining compliance with food safety, hygiene, and healthcare standards.

Critical Outputs

• Oversee all catering and food service operations within the hospital.

• Develop, implement, and monitor catering budgets and cost-control initiatives.

• Manage kitchen supervisors, chefs, catering assistants, and related staff.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, infection prevention, and quality standards.

• Coordinate menu planning with dietitians to meet patient dietary requirements.

• Monitor food quality, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.

• Manage supplier relationships, procurement processes, and stock control.

• Conduct audits and implement corrective actions where required.

• Prepare operational and management reports.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the catering department.

• Ensure effective staff training, performance management, and workforce planning.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Catering Management, Culinary Arts, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a catering management role, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.

• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, and healthcare catering standards.

• Proven experience managing budgets, staffing, and operational performance.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing.
