Description
An opportunity exists for a Catering Assistant. The incumbents will be responsible for supporting food preparation, serving station setup, and optimizing patient experience and they will report to the Catering Manager.
Critical Outputs
• Food Preparation - wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables, fruits, and meats, and assist with basic cooking and serving.
• Serving Area Setup - arrange tables, chairs, buffets, and serving stations according to instructions.
• Cleaning and Hygiene – washing and sanitizing tableware, utensils, and work surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
• Customer Service - serving food and beverages and assist in minimizing and resolving complaints.
• Stock and Logistics: Load and unload catering vehicles, restock supplies, and check inventory
Requirements
• Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or healthcare service is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a caring approach to patient service.
• Physical ability to manage meal trays and service duties in a busy hospital environment.
