Description
An opportunity exists for an Administrative Assistant (Theare), reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will form part of the multidisciplinary teams and be responsible for providing administrative support in theatre.
Critical Outputs
• Compile and distribute the daily theatre schedule to all relevant departments, including anaesthetic teams.
• Assign time slots to regular supporting doctors.
• Schedule theatre cases in accordance with approved bookings.
• Coordinate with supporting surgeons' secretaries to obtain theatre lists.
• Prevent double bookings of theatres and/or equipment.
• Support the Unit Manager in arranging loan equipment or surgical representatives.
• Assist with the theatre billing process.
• Manage general theatre-related inquiries and escalate accordingly.
• Liaise with the Marketing Manager for admission rights for new doctors.
• Ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
Requirements
• Grade 12
• Sound knowledge of and experience in stock control for at least 2 years in a hospital environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
