Description

An opportunity exists for 2x Cooks, reporting to the Head Chef. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing and presenting meals that meet required standards for quality, nutrition, food safety, hygiene and patient care, while supporting the efficient operation of the kitchen.

Critical Outputs

• Prepare, cook and present meals according to approved menus, recipes, portion and special diet specifications.

• Optimize patient experience.

• Follow strict food safety, hygiene and infection prevention procedures.

• Monitor cooking temperatures and ensure food is safely stored, handled and served.

• Maintain accurate food production and temperature records where required.

• Monitor stock usage and minimise food waste.

• Report shortages, damaged stock, equipment faults or food safety concerns promptly.

• Assist with receiving, storing and rotating food stock according to FIFO principles.

• Work efficiently within allocated preparation and service times.

Requirements

• Proven previous experience as a Cook in a commercial environment, minimum 2 years.

• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and basic kitchen operations.

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.

• Understanding of special diets and allergen awareness.

• Ability to follow recipes, menus and portion-control requirements.

• Ability to work with commercial kitchen equipment safely.

• Ability to work shifts.
