AHC is pleased to announce that the Fountain Private Hospital has a new hospital manager, Maggie Ntambana. Maggie took up her position on the 20th of January, and she hit the ground running. In addition to other managerial activities, she is looking forward to being part of the new medical ward, which is currently being built at Fountain Private Hospital.
With over five years of experience working as a manager in the health sector, Maggie has enjoyed every moment of being at Fountain and has been overwhelmed by the warm welcome she has received. “So far, it has been good. Management has received me well, so has the staff,” says Maggie, who was a Professional nurse and has post basic Diploma in Theatre Nursing science.
“As a theatre nurse, I was managing the theatre which was assigned to me, mostly Orthopaedic Theatre and I had to manage the equipment, the staff, and the stock. And that’s where my love for management started.” The doctors she used to work with encouraged Maggie to consider the business side of medicine as they could see that it’s something that she does well.
Her journey in management started at a hospital in Sebokeng in 1998. In 2014, the company needed someone to oversee the group billings department, and Maggie was asked to take up that role as she had billings experience. When the company identified gaps in case management and patient administration, she was tasked with managing those departments as well, at group level.
In addition to having an impressive career background, Maggie is a lover of acquiring new knowledge. Her career development is of utmost importance to her. She has a Diploma in Business Management and a National Diploma in General Management. “I study to enhance my business skills,” says Maggie, who is currently working towards Bcom Honours in Business Management.
Maggie looks forward to her new role at Fountain Private Hospital. She hopes to change the image and reputation of the hospital positively “The hospital is known to the community as a mine hospital, so they don’t expect it to be a private hospital.” One of AHC’s values is patient-focus, and Maggie hopes to ensure that that value is carried out at Fountain. “I want to ensure that our patients are happy and satisfied when they’re in our hospitals, and I want them to be safe.”
Welcome to the AHC family, Maggie. We look forward to working and serving the community with you.
