Fochville Private Hospital (Pty) Ltd was founded by the late Doctor T.T. De Wet and other founding members. When it was established on the 27th of August in 1955, the hospital had a maternity and general ward. The land on which the hospital was built was donated by the town council, and donations were generated to fund building costs. In later years, the hospital was extended to include a theatre, surgical ward, and a children’s ward. Fochville Hospital has always been a non-profitable organisation with the aim of providing good nursing care to the community.
On the 1st of February, 2019, Fochville Hospital entered a new and exciting era when it was taken over by the Africa Health Care group. The name changed to AHC Fochville Private Hospital. This facility has 24 medical beds, 6 paediatric beds, and 7 maternity beds; it also has a frail care unit. AHC Fochville Private Hospital accepts selected medical aids and uninsured, cash-paying patients.
